Just did my first water change this season (2 months in). For some reason the algae is growing around the planters and the lillies. I ended up pulling a TON of it out yesterday while the water level was low. Just have to keep at it and yank the stuff out periodically. Water changes will help as well.

Yeah yeah yeah...I know...:yikesu: Trying to find the time is the hard part. As soon as my pump is fixed, it'll be a lot easier than carrying 5 gal buckets accross the yard..

If your pump isn't working, do you have any filtration running at all? I sure hope so!

You gotta find the time, Lew. It's like feeding a dog, kid or cat--it's got to be done no if and's but's. If you can't dedicate the time, then perhaps a pond is not for you. Sorry to be blunt, but don't want to see you lose creatures or have your pond go sour.

NO NO NO...My pump\filters are working. This is an old pump that had it's power cable severed. I need to replace the plug and see if it will work as my water change pump.

The reason I don't have much time is because I'm taking care of my kid... :yikesu: Also, I don't have any fish..Just plants..

What I wanted to add to my previous post, is that I will just start doing the pond maintenance during my weekly lawn mowing\yard maintenance.
