I guess once she gets the junk out will tell it all .It may or may not be able to be salvaged .The empty pond will show how big the cracks are if there are any .Keep your fingers crossed there is no damage :);)

Since this is a temp. home for you, you could get by with a different liner, like PVC, instead of EPDM -- PVC would be a cheaper alternative.

Once your closed on the house, check out the concrete bottom and see what shape it's in. I agree with trying to break it up and removing as much as possible -- that should give you a little more depth, too.

As to making it deeper, what about a layer or 2 of cinder block surrounding the perimeter (outside edge)?

That is how mine is raised with concrete block .pvc true is cheaper and can be good for a pond as long as you do not drop a heavy rock into the bottom and great for waterfall or around a filter tank

Thanks everyone for the great input. I took all in and make notes. I'll have to consult with my husband since we are not going to have much budget for the pond at all I have to make it the cheapest.

I do like the liner idea now if I could break the rocks lose. Then I will be able to add on the stream and bog if I want.

I can't wait to see what's under those leaves... I'll build a little net dome over the pond so the leaves will not get to the pond in the fall.

I would move them late spring when the temperature is on the up but if you got the pond up and running prior to winter you ccould move them then but you have lots of work to do prior to that .

Dave

So if the pond is done before winter I could have them there? Since the pond will be new there won't be any bacteria... Well there's no bacteria working in winter anyway... How does it work?
