hmm, they make nets to keep herons away...ah, do they make one for apples? :)
I put some of that green plastic garden fence over it, a 1/4 inch apple could fall in but it would go right through the pipe.............

@addy1, I don't think you're going to live this one down!

laughing, I deserve that! No clue why it didn't happen in the years before.

More like apple sauce.............. they actually nibble at them when they fall into the pond. But don't make much head way.

I pull 3-4 out of the pond every other day or so. They miss the big pond. I could put a finer net over the stock tank, but it is easy to yank them out.

We had one of the window box planters on the side of the pond get plugged while we were gone for 2 days and dropped the pond down a foot!. Unplugged the pump when we went away for 4 days just to be safe!

Well hopefully I managed to fix all the possible issues. The loop pond has been running fine since the leak fix. Everything is running good right now. I will take peeks every morning and evening if we leave the house. One way to make sure all is good. My neighbor will take care of anything I need. Unplugging to adding water. If the level goes down I would just have her unplug the main pump which would shut off everything.
