I've been seeing this strange, seaweed looking, floating type of algae in one part of my bog for a while now. I've been scooping it up and throw it away, no problem but now it's starting to take over and I have no idea what it is.

The algae is brownish, slimy, clumps, looks like wood ear mushroom, float, and attached to my plants, where that part of the plants dies (looks more like it got dissolved / eaten by the algae). It's in the water (the bog has about 1-2 inches of water over gravel). I googled and seems what close to my mystery algae is Nostuc algae but I only read that nostuc is found on ground.

I'll try to take the picture later today.

What do you think it is and how can I get rid of it.. it's killing my plants....

Nepen, don't try treating it with anything until we can identify it properly.
Cyanobacteria is only referred to as algae because of it's appearance, which doesn't help people when trying to deal with it.

This is a picture of what I consider to be nostoc, in our driveway, from a few minutes ago.
I just ignore it.
