They come around my house also and I'm sure they have checked out the pond but have never bothered the fish. Sides are too deep and they don't like swimming to catch fish. They like to stand on the sides and wait for fish to come to them but guess fish are smarter than that I hope anyways.

Welcome, Curt! Sorry to hear about the raccoon. I've seen pics of the messes they can make of a pond. I hope he doesn't return!

I get raccoons occasionally, mostly they make a mess of the pond by knocking over my plants. Luckily, my dogs tend to keep them away :)

Hi Curt, Welcome. I have raccoon visitors all the time. They make a mess, but can't catch the fish. They do like snails though. Last year they fished out all my snails by the end of the summer.

Luckily my pond is deep, the snails seem to be hanging out in the deep end. I see them wandering around all the time.
