I used to have them in the bottom of my pond but it was hard to use the pool net to clean up stuff on the bottom of the pond

I didn't bother with the pipe i dug a trench into the ground before installing the liner then placed the rock across the trench . Or the other was a large flat rock 4 foot wide that made a tunnel by placing other rocks from the edge of the walls spanning over the last bit of opening and sitting on the large roack making the tunnels almost 6 feet long and 4 foot wide they love it i hate it i can't even think about catching them unless the are cold and lethargic. But it's cool to watch them in the summer great drinking game to betting who and which will come out from where. Not that i drink.

looking like a big box with water in it.
Very nice big box with water!

Welcome to our forum! Like said above add some plants, rocks, drift wood, even hanging plants in pots draping down the side.

There are YouTube videos on how to make realistic wood logs out of pvc pipe. Real plants that can grow in that depth of water such as aquarium plants, water lillies, even some cattails and reeds.
