Thank you for the input. This was a lot of help. I think tho if the honed coral with cement will be covered in algae, I'd rather take my chances with the polymer.

I would make sure the polymer you choose is as UV resistant as you can manage so you get as much good life out of it as possible. And of course the more shade the longer it would last.

I think it will look pretty cool. Hope you can post pictures along the way.
