New pond and bottom drain setup

Dont take this the wrong way but I was also a bit surprised when I saw the picture of the shape. However, I then realized the front wall is a couple feet higher than the back walls, so the picture really gives a bit of an illusion as to the true size. When size is an issue, going deeper is always a good way to get more gallons. I would even consider digging out some of the steps. I redug my pond after its first year, so remove some of the steps, or just make the steps deeper. More water is better for everyone!

Yes, I only built the back wall to ground level at the moment until I decided how to set up my pond filters etc. I really wasn't sure on depth, but think I've got it about right.

Thinking about your previous comment dieselpower, I think I am just going to bite the bullet and purchase a good filter/pump from the outset. Having seen a good site in the UK, thinking of purchasing a filter like these from:

Will need to figure out which one will be best given my pond size of around 3500 litres -- I think :confused:
