Hey, we just bought a home and it came with a 800-1000 gallon Koi Pond. We are crunching in as much info to keep Bob(Koi) and lil bobs’s(goldfish) happy and healthy. However a night owl is becoming an issue and I am here looking for help. We have caught him on video..

Hello and welcome. Would love to see a daytime pic!

I might be wrong here (nature always surprises us), but only a few types of owl are fishers. IDK what to say, though, other than keep an eye on things. Netting works for day-time avian predators, but since owls tend to hunt on the fly, my fear would be of it’s getting caught in netting.

Keep an eye out for raccoons and other nocturnal hunters, as well.

I loss a real nice big white fish to a owl. Before heron netting. Also saw one land on the pond edge grab a small fish and take off, This was with the torn old net. They do fish, at least ours do

Somewhere I have a pic of it

Owes are not good fishermen unless the fish is swimming at the surface there's no risk. Place fishing line over the pond or take away his flight patch
