Hi everyone
I was looking to change my filter set up as I’ve had lots of issues with them blocking up and cleaning, also the main problem is I can get enough flow through them to clean the pond properly, basically the filters are too small.
So for a few months I have been doing research on what would suit my pond best ??

Pond details; 5m x 2m x 1m deep and holds about 9000 lts / 2000 gallons uk.
At the moment we have 6 koi and 11 goldfish (given the goldfish from someone who was getting rid of there pond and will be given most of these away)
I have been looking at Evolution Aqua Easypod filter
http://evolutionaqua.com/acatalog/Eazy_Pod.html
This filter will pump 10,000lts and very easily maintained. Has anyone used this filter or know anything about them???
Any advice much appreciated (y)

Hi dave, i have been looking at multi bay filters with a vortex but they are too expensive for what i want to spend (getting married in may so on limited funds) i think the easy pod for the money is the best i can afford.

Please accept our congratulations Willo Val and I wish you both every happiness in your future life with your husband
May I suggest you look into the second hand purchase of a multibay before you go for the easy pod Willo you can pick them up quite cheaply try ebay or amazon see what they have first before laying out good money on an easy pod .
I've heard from people who love the easy pod but there are equally alott of people who would poo poo that and say they arent worth the money you pay for them.
Then which way you choose is your perogative but look into everything first thats all i'm saying .
Copied this one off of ebay for you :-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USED-Kock...eatures_UK&hash=item58b8a41763#ht_2677wt_1085

That's just a quick example for you cost £275.00 Kockney koi are well known for their filters

Hi dave, Thanks for the congrats but i must correct you as my name is Mark Williams (nick name Willo) and i will pass the congrats to my future wife (y) :)
Ive been looking at multi chamber filters i do like the concept of them but the 1 you suggested will only pump 3000 lts/ph and is meant for a pond of 5000lts, my pond is 9000lts and should be moving a minimum of 4500ph so i have been told ?? Is this right???
The 10,000v from kokney koi is about £650ish which is for ponds of 10,000lts thats out of my price range.

Hi Willo my pond is 10 feet long 6 feet across and a water depth of a tad over 5 feet im running a wood side 13000ltr p/h pump a Evo 55 uv cost £100 but the replacement tubes are only around £10 instead of £20 for the smaller units Im running a bottom drain with home made vortex the filters im using are two oase 1500 pressure systems linked by a water splitter, they are only about a foot across and about 2 feet hight but they can be burred to save space they have a built in back wash system so cleaning is very quick and easy, just turn a flap and pump the handlle untill the water runs clean turn flap back top up pond as long as you keep on top of the back washing not a problem i love them brand new around £400 each but i have seen them on ebay

Sorry Dave not heard of him Having to do a total rethink on where i position my filters as originally the return pipe was buried underground but as ive a pump fed system this is no good as the return water goes slightly up hill causing back pressure in the filters. This was how the original system was when moved into the house. Ive got a few ideas !!! Involving waterfalls but im going to be restricted in the size of the filters i end up buying.

I wish i could, but when i dug the new pond my old pond was still in use so every inch of land i could use i did, but now with the design and size of the new pond, Iv some what backed myself into a corner and made a rod for my own back, I know a very basic mistake plan, plan, and plan again, i just got a bit excited when the digger arrived, the wife was out so i extended the pond by a few feet in every direction lol so room is at a premium as in room for filtration flowers waterfalls etc just got carried away with it all pond, pond pond.

the photo was taken today at 11;00 bear in mind the water depth is over 5 feet and the fish are sat on the bottom,
