I'm probably being repetitive, but would it help if, in the future, I built a pond with more surface area and more gallons with all of the proper equipment as well?

Seriously @Meyer Jordan I am so grateful for your help. You are clearly an expert, which I am in need of. The owner of the pond store I go to is great, but likes to sell me the bear minimum—maybe he doesn't like to overwhelm his customers.
