I have the yellow and then some I got from addy which haven't bloomed yet but believe they are a black or dk purple if I remember right.

Iris' don't tend to bloom the first year. If this is the second year then they should be established enough to bloom. I too had purple and yellow Iris' one year, but that was only one year. Sometimes when they are put together the more dominate of the species will cause the iris to revert back to yellow. This also happens varigated rushes too. :)

dark purple jw, mine are just getting ready to open.

Thanks addy and sure hope they stay the purple when they bloom cuz I have lots of yellow.

Whenever mine bloom I will post a photo and then I shall know what exact color you sent me addy. Those you just posted are beautiful!

Not sure colleen, might be, some where given to me, some I bought. The black purple one (black gamecock iris) I bought, some of the others were end of season dump sale. I will see if I kept the tag, the louisiana iris sounds right, maybe. I put them in the pond the fall I built it.

This is their first really good bloom year. Had a few blossoms last year and not all the colors showed up.

Oh My, simply lovely Iris's. They are one of my most favorite flowering plants. I tried to float some rhizomed in a floating planter...and they rotted. I may have to try planting them in kitty litter and then floating them. They are regular iris's. Is there a difference?
