I went to a nearby trail, like a typically do. I was surprised to see how many wildflowers were in bloom in this area. I only photographed a few, but there were many different species.

This is a wild sunflower of some kind, though I'm not really sure.

Great Blue Lobelia. This will be in my native garden someday, for sure!

This one is called Sneezeweed. I hope to also add this to my native plant garden eventually. Today was the first time I've ever seen it in the wild, though I've seen it online quite a bit.

I see a lot of goldenrod, one of the main fall nectar's for bees, stinks when it is curing, crystallizes fast but tastes good.

As you all can clearly see, I enjoy photographing native wildflowers. We're to that point where the Summer ones are dying off and the Autumn ones are beginning. Some overlap, and that's where we're at right now. It's great to be able to photograph so many different colors, but admittedly they're all harder to find right now among the endless Goldenrods.

Summer blooms like Purple Coneflower, Wild Bergamot, and Gray-headed Coneflower are blooming along with Autumn blooms such as New England Aster and Sneezeweed. It creates a nice little blast of color before it begins to fade.

It doesn't look like any snake I'm familiar with. It might be in the watersnake family. It's pattern and shape sort of reminds me of the ones we have around here, but that is just a guess, it could be anything.

EDIT: I see @tbendl found out that it is a watersnake. I guess I was right!

Saved a turtle today, took it out of the middle of the road and placed it on the side facing the way it was going.

Caller a farmer to tell him his cows were loose. A cute little garter snake scared my lil pup, she almost stepped on it. That was our wildlife for the day..............

Watched the balloon land in the fields near our house.

She said it's a water snake, not venomous. I've heard that if you spray them with a hose, they will leave the pond since they don't like that. Not sure if you care he's there or not.

Thanks T and @JBtheExplorer I dont really mind but I'll have to be more mindful when working in the pond after dark!

The 3rd pic is exactly like my snake... hm... live-bearers, up to 30 young are born between August and October.... I'll need to cut some grass. I'm inviting them to eat my fishy babies!!
