My bog is raised and separated but I still have algae. :( Probably why I call it a pond and not a natural swimming pool though, lol. Good luck and keep the pictures coming.

@tbendl u r supposed to have algae...

I am teeing off of my 1.5 hp pool pump and running the water to the waterfall thru a UV sterilizer & ionizer to keep the water feature clean and running separate, un treated water to the bogs, hoping to at least keep my bog plants alive.

Between u and I, there isn't much NATURAL left to the filtration after adding the sterilizer and ionizer.

I am hoping for a natural look tho.

Just have to do something about these wrinkles.

I have most of the boulders set in place on the waterfall, just forgot to take pics yesterday. ( Too tired after lugging huge boulders around... :D )

So wait I'm confused, your bog will be separate from the swim hole? Where will the bog water go? GAK I apologize in advance, I haven't had all my coffee yet so the hamsters aren't fully turning the wheel.

Alright @tbendl ..... THAT is my Quagmire.....

In reality, a NATURAL swimming pool would drive water from the pond into, in this case a waterfall and filter separately thru the bog.....

What I'm building is NOT a natural swimming pool if you go by the rules.

It's more of a water feature with a hydroponic filtration area to grow plants that require no dirt. :bigtears:

Once my customer added the UV sterilizer and ionizer, in my opinion, it took NATURAL out of it because they kill algae and bacteria necessary to filtrate naturally I think.

The Quagmire is I don't have a derned clue.

I was looking for answers when I tripped across you fine folks.

Gonna be beautiful tho.... :D

Thanks addy..

Probably not what either of us would build in our "natural" outdoor environments, but it's turning out great for the "tropical" enthusiasts.

Looks like you used Colorado red sandstone?

If so, you may have some problems with fracturing during the freeze/thaw.

Nice design.

It's a Rosa and we r in SE Texas.... No real problem with freezing.

I've installed 10's of thousands of sq. ft with no problems in the past, but never under water that I can remember.

Thanks for the input.

More worried about the mortar cracking in the blazing heat in the summer.
