Hello
I'm looking to see if anyone can identify these fry for me. At the start of may we decided to add a small wildlife pond to the garden, purchased some snails to help keep the pond clean, a water mint plant from a local aquatics centre along with some pond oxygenators and a dwarf lily from an aquatic shop on Amazon.
On the 11th June imagine my shock when looking in the pond to see 2 very small fish fry swimming around! I'm guessing these have come from the plants although I do get pigeons bathing in the pond with a fishing lake just over the banking from my back garden so maybe possible eggs have been brought in by a bird but less likely.
Any ideas what they are? They are surviving on the algae from the side of the pond. The photos were taken on the 11th June. They only seem to come out at night time now. They haven't changed in size up to now.
Thankyou in advance.

Welcome to the forum! Too small for me to tell. I too suspect the plants had some eggs on them. Hopefully they will keep growing, kind of blurry but looks like you might have some mosquito larvae in that last picture?

Thankyou for the reply, Yes lots of mosquito larvae in the pond, also some red wiggly things which I think are bloodworms.

Just thought I'd follow this up with another photo, both fish are thriving in the pond. I have never fed them they have survived on the natural food available and are now around 2 inches long including tail. Think they are goldfish.

Very good and yep lots of tidbits in the water for them to live on. Looks like goldfish to me and one day they will turn colors, prolly orange but some of mine turned white or a peach, yellowy color so you will see. I have had some stay dark tho for many years and then whamo all of a sudden they change! No clue on why some change color fast and others take so long.
