yep takes longer and you will see it will happen and you just need to wait it out .3 days is nothing mine took more than a month ,did it in the spring when the pollen started up .Fall should be easier .

I hope it does it b4 the snow starts flying because I want to get my fish into their new home b4 then...would a few feeder fish help to build some amonia levels? Man all the reading I've been doing about pea soup ponds..but I know mine just started and patience is a virtue...I really need to get a ph tester today. Might have to run out to earl may and see if they have any today.

have you tried quilt batting and peroxide and solar salt to help your pond out .Peroxide raise the oxygen level .I know with mine I finally added 2 air pumps I bought from petco and they have 4 outlets each and less than 30 dollars and that's when mine started to clear up .I put my pump in a bucket of lava rock and put straight into the quilt batting to clear it up and once I got it clear I added bacteria .The microlift smells like rotten eggs but it sure worked .

I use quilt batting in my filter (lots of it) and lava rock on the bottom of it. I've used peroxide in my other pond on the rocks/waterfall before to clear out the string algea and I think I do need to add another pump/bubbler of sorts to add more oxygen. Probably have to get another one since the one I have is still being used in my small pond for my fish. Not sure where I would find solar salt? Would rock salt be the same?

Pond looks great. I wonder if taking the yellow top of the filter would help with oxygen/gas exchange? It is also my understanding that the benificial bacteria thrive in a more oxygen rich environment. Just a totally random idea. Probably nonsense hahaha.

Not finished with the plant/rock/dirt work yet but am going rock hunting with a friend this afternoon. The waterfall is just temporary and will probably not be finished until next spring since fall is upon us here and it will be shut down probably by the end of the month for winter...depressing, but the water is clear (with algea growth on the liner that is kinda pretty) and my kids seem pretty darn happy.
