Do you have a drawing or a picture of the plumping. I am having a hard time picturing how you have it plumbed?
Thanks
Mark

its plumbed just like the one in the 55 gallon drum model except no oilpan. look at the pieces layed out in the 55 gallon thread ..... the way i ran the plumbing thru the 2" tees and lifter pipes make it hard to tell in this thread. its just like in the video too.. i just lifted the pipes in this one...most people let them sit on the floor of tank.

If you need more info... look at my 55G setup.. Pics are somewhere here... https://www.gardenpondforum.com/my-basement-pond-project-t3120p7.html

If you need to see bottom section I may have it in earlier pages.

I made 1 huge change to the plumbing b/c first setup was in adequate. The linky above shows final setup. Almost 1 year after change, i wouldn't change my setup at all... it's iron clad to me.

Koiguy, I followed your advice on the filter and did it exactly the same, except I have a smaller drain pipe. I hope my filter can he half as good as yours.

I shoudl have added, I usedd 400 of the small plastic scrubbies from 'doitbest.com' and then a top layer of 3M 96 pads. I have just oreder anohter 400 scrubbies to add to the filter. Hopefully, with 800 scrubbies and 1 layer of covering of 3M, I should have a good filter.

Never drained the water once yet.

Those doitbest scrub pads will work to a limited extent, but lack the surface area to effectively utilize the limited space in your filter. Dollar stores sell an 8-pack of scotch-brite style scrubbies, which are usually green and have much more available surface area for bacteria colonization.
