Those are basically useless on anything bigger than aquarium size ponds,,
Do a complete clean out once a year and you will be fine.
Sucking up fish ?? i would love if it did that, i can't catch mine unless i do a full drain and water change.

been looking at one of these!!! ponds about 4000 gallons ive just enlarged it !! with shovel , 120 wheell barrow loads!!!!!!!!!!!
