With these 90° temps nothing is doing good. Still have the one bloom and 2 buds that have now straightened up. Tomorrow is block party- moving all papers and edging block to set up new level surround.

Blocks moved. Most of lotus are either dead or close to it. We are working on the area around the tank to get it leveled and put down block but the weather here has stopped all outside work. 90+ every day and heat indexes well over 100°. Hubby just started an 8 day work week so not a lot going to get done. Hoping this hurricane will maybe give us some rain.

Well we have new leaves coming up even though most of the old ones have dried up. No flowers this year but at least the tubers are good.
Got the metal cover put together. Lowes just delivered pavers, sand and river rock so when it cools down we can finish this.

Update! After dealing with 2 weeks of extreme heat finally getting there to finishing this project. Still have to place a few more pavers and then finish with river rock. lotus are doing good, wish my back and feet were! Pavers are 55+ pounds and dropped one on my feet - twice!

Thanks! This project was way too much for me. Still waiting on delivery on extra parts for metal edging.
Next project is installing electric fence to keep deer off wildflower garden and berries!

lotus look like they like their new home . do you know how to cut the pavers? if there is a tile installer in the area if you ask them them may cut those the next time they set up a wet saw. or you can used a masonry circular saw blade

Trying to finish up this project now that the weather has cooled down.
Was absolutely shocked to see 2 buds on the lotus!!!!
Awesome! How long have you had that batch of lotus -- are they quite mature and well established?
