Really neat videos, Joann. Now, I have to ask, how did you get those beautiful bird sounds on the first and last video, and why didn't you hire them for your video last year?
The sounds were wonderful, and I love the numerous waterfall features you have. It seems you have more shade than I do, well everyone does unless you have full sun, and I sometimes wish part of my pond area was more shaded so I could also have shade loving plants. But, then I have to remind myself others with shade wish they had more sun, so I need to suck it up and enjoy my sun loving plants. At least my pond is on the east side of my house, so it does get shade late in the day, when the sun is below the roof of the house.
Now, I have to ask. I saw 2 fish in both the first and last video, and maybe it was a play on the light, but they seemed to be kind of creamy yellow in color, but all of their fins looked to be dark peach or maybe orange/red colored. Was I dreaming, or do you have fish like that? Also, they looked to be somewhat different body style than your gorgeous butterfly koi, so maybe they are regular fin koi? I also loved that little tri-colored guy in the second video. Is he/she a baby from your koi, or did you buy him? He was in the 2011 video.
Thanks for sharing! And, yes, I saw your lotus plants! Your gardens in and around your pond are to die for! I can't wait to see how my plantings grow this season, since I didn't get most of my plants in the pond until July and around the pond about the same time. I'm hoping most if not all of the perennials come back beautifully! It's always fun watching them come back to life in the spring. Already have hyacinths and tulips and daffodils that have been fooled by our warm temps on and off, but they should be ok to go through some more freezing weather, at least I've seen them do this before and still grow and bloom.
