Pretty cool. Looks heavily stocked. Fish look nice.
nah there is a lot of water room, the fish like to hang out in the deep end where the camera is. When they all gather to eat, the mass of fish covers maybe 1/16 of the pond surface

Love love love your black and white shubbies! :claphand:

I had the one black and white in the house all winter, put it in the shubbie only tank (twice) It very nicely, somehow, figured out a way around the hole blockage, went through the 2 inch pvc pipe, rode down the waterfall into the big pond............twice! So it gets to stay in the big pond.

ADDY, I know this has been asked before, but what kind of cameras do you have? How do you have them set up -- as I know you have a live feed that you can watch from inside?

We'd love to do something like this, but are a little "camera shy," if you will excuse the pun.

I had a lorex bullet camera, a huge rock fell on it and cracked the lens. Via the web I finally found another underwater camera (that will feed into our dvr system) This one is a dome camera. More of a wide angle view.
The only issue I see is debris tends to settle on the top of the lens, no biggy really unless the sun is hitting it. Then you get light scattering. I love watching the fish via the house, the view constantly changes. One year I watched a frog wake up, first time up from the bottom where it overwintered. Swam right by the camera.

If you have a video monitor, tv that accepts coax cable hook up, you could just feed the camera right into the monitor. It does not need to go through a dvr system. I like being able to record now and then.

Here is a link, I found it in my emails, lol. Before I bought it I called the company to confirm it was underwater proof, not just weather proof.

The biggest issue is the power and video line coming out are only 2 feet long. I used some cpvc to run the lines through, sealed the ends with silicone so no water would get to the connection. I put this camera only 1.5 feet under the water. My other one was 3 feet down. We have a 100 foot line running to the house for the video feed, I have a power supply plugged into it down by the pump. The video line runs up to the house through some pvc my dear honey suggested we bury when we were digging the pond. We buried 4 different pvc lines for ......whatever lol.

That black and white one was a petsmart reject. It and a buddy, not as colorful, sat in the tank for weeks, nobody wanted them. I finally felt sorry for them brought them home. They lived in the deck pond, then I moved them into the house for the winter. (last winter) That fish is an escape artist!

I was looking for shubbies, wanted a few more, almost did not pick them up, but felt sorry for the little ones. This was them as babies.

The one with the darker black spot between the eyes, became the real prominent black and white. The other one has the same coloring but under the scales if that makes sense. Muted coloring. lol they looked sort of plain when I picked them up I did like the black spot between the eyes.
