Leo is about to have chicken head for lunch if they aren't careful :p
He mostly enjoys staring at them. one of the girls will run at him and peck him, but he and the others just kind of stare at and/or ignore each other. So far.

We've put big rocks against the base of the fence now though. I don't want the girls cutting up their necks trying to get under the fence.

Meet Nugget! Feral kitten adopted over a year ago. Was told he was not litter box trained, bit and clawed.
When we adopted him he didn't even have a name, just a number. Had been yanked from his outside home, thrown in a cage, poked and prodded with needles and then thrown back in a cage. I took one look and even though I said I would never have a long hair cat again he came home with us. He's not mean, uses litter and now comes

This is my buddy Oscar who was adopted from an MSPCA shelter several years ago. He arrived at the shelter after being rescued from a hoarding situation. He's a sweet, big boy weighing almost 17 pounds.

Emma

She just had her surgery. I took over her care since the owner said could not pay and she was heading for the pound.

TPLO ie cut the head of the tibia off, realign the leg. Plate it back on. Now 3 to 4 months recovery, controlling movement. Etc.

Look at the red line, where it was cut off, the purple line the cut off piece. slide it back up and it aligns. now plates and screws.

Poor little girl having to go through all of this but better than the alternative if you would not have stepped in to help her. She will heal and someday soon be good as new!

She is on a 3 month lock down schedule. Can't be out with the others unless I hold her.
Not allowed to play, jump, climb ramp to get onto the couch, etc. Slow increase of time allowed to walk. Right now 5 mins just for potty business. In 2 weeks 7 minutes, etc

My first experience with a long time recovery for any of my pets.

Been through TPLO recovery with a large breed dog. Yes, the recovery is long and limiting, but really great outcomes ! Stick with the recovery protocol, it'll be worth it :)

It's rough, but you're determined enough to get her through it happily.

You need to ignore the cries of let me out, the big brown eyes staring at you. I do have calming meds for her.

I hold her when sitting. Ow she finally gives up and relaxes when in the pen.

Others way to active to let her be with the pack.
