"Time heals all wounds... and seals all leaks!" (Don't we wish!)

I replaced a hose bib on my house w/ PEX-A last year and had to tap into 60 year-old galvanized plumbing to do it. The inside of the old pipe is so corroded. No matter what I tried, I could not get the transition fitting to stop leaking—a very slow drip. So I gave up, stuck a plastic tub under the leak and decided to give it another shot later. Took another look a month later, and it had healed itself. Probably plugged itself with rust!
