What type of plants can I plant there? it is only around 2" deep some areas 3" or 4"?
Almost any plants will fight to survive With the roots in the water you can mound the soil up around the roots to what ever depth you need

Should I use pond salt in my pond?
Why do you want to use salt in your pond? Are you having a health/parasite issue with your fish? Salt used to be the 'go to' treatment whenever things went awry in a pond, but in recent years, it's not recommended as highly as it used to be. If you have an individual fish that needs treatment - isolate & treat that fish. For the pond as a whole? It's better to identify the problem & treat for specific organisms.

A very light dose will not hurt to much as all life has some salt but I do not run salt.. it can also kill everything from the fish to bacteria and microbes.

reason asking is , I ordered 7 small Koi , 1 died nearly 48 hours later after receiving, then about 1 week later a 2nd died and now almost 2 and half weeks in I am seeing a 3rd one not doing so well. The weird part is the 2nd and 3rd have almost the same systomps which is not moving much, not eating, staying more towards the top of the pond. I took them out twice , gave them a salt bath and still the same. I dont see any pine coning effect, I checked my water parameters all good. Ive been doing around 15-20% water changes once a week, I dose with prime and I also use bacteria in a bottle.
