My pond in arizona had just goldies and shubunkins, population stable for over 8 years now, never overpopulated. It might be because I don't feed them often, they survive on what is in the pond and do quite well. All nice sized.

I first started with , believe it or not, 27 Goldfish. Thus the name. Had them for about 4 yrs. They all died after the roofers poked a bunch of holes in my liner and the sealant kit I had turned out to be extremely old and bad. Once I realized that my goldies were fine in there, I spent some money... Now I have a mix of Sarrarro's, shubukin's, Koi, and some mut fish babies. Know who the momma is, no idea on poppa though. They were bread in my pond  And they are spawning again. I guess, start cheap and work your way up!

Even cheap fish love a pond! I stick with cheap ones, they are pretty to me that is all that matters.

Mine got huge, until they accidentally got killed. Had them for about 3 years. And they would come up every time they saw me. I do miss that

Well nature is calling for them to get busy jw, they don't care if it is raining! since they are already wet.
