I do well water changes off and on slowly allowing water in and slowly water out at the same time. Works great for me! I don't do it that often tho as I have filters. They can't keep up w/all the goldfish I have in there tho. You can do the changes of water as often as you like, just do it slowly so the fish won't be shocked. I would start w/once per week and if the water gets murky looking do it more often. Kinda like having fish in an aquarium indoors that is too small for them.

it may but zeolite would be better .Water temperature changes can shock fish also and not sure if they have city or well water

Doing a slow water change won't bother the fish. Never bothers mine and I've been doing it this way for over 15 yrs. I never do it in the cold of winter, only Spring and Summer.

Hi again everyone ! Thanks for all the help! I got filters on Monday and water has cleared up quite a bit! My husband got some testing kits and it seems everything is in order.... We are still looking for homes for them since it seems the pond maybe to small for these guys but I will make their stay as pleasant as possible :)
