Always stinks losing fish, lost one of the big orfes this winter during a freeze when the power crapped out overnight and everything froze up, so I moved a 10k pump outside the vault to let it spray across the pond surface and one of the orfes wandered to close to the intake.
Down here in Md we don’t even get snow that much anymore, weather patterns have changed just in the past 10 years. Weather seems to stay in the 40’s and 50’s with a week or two total of getting below freezing for the day.

Yea i thought i'd get away from having to shut the pond down. like @Jhn said there's an investment in the pond. And leaving the pump running gave me more comfort with the bio load . Than i was afraid of freezing.

To an extent, but not like tetras or smaller minnows. Have about 14 or so in the pond and while they are rarely alone they are usually in groups of 3 or 4.

Down around Annapolis it has always been hot in the summers regularly seeing upper 90’s or triple digits. Seems like western Maryland has been seeing more of this weather in the recent years.

They can get upwards of 24”, miy big ones are probably 16-18” now.

yeah both bogs are doing well. Didn’t have any new little ones survive of any fish species this year, (hopefully Pygmy sunfish are doing their jobs). If they don’t will have to start thinning the herd.

We had a rental there. I would never leave the 100 year old townhouse while working on it , unless mace in hand, hubby by side. He had many possible tenants offering non money rent.....

Sold it whew out of there.

We live out in farm fields, cows, trees. Until all are sold for houses. We won't be here.

Rough is an understatement, Baltimore is a disaster, never go in there if I can help it.
