If they had it in shallow water it would do fine in a pot in the pond. I put just of my plants in plain kitty litter, pure clay type

Use it to pot up your water plants - just like you would use dirt to pot a regular plant.

Nice job with your rocks, by the way!

The kitty litter will be the "dirt" in the pot for your pond plants. Regular soil washes out of pots, I leaarned this the hard way,, where the litter stay put. Have fun with the pond,

It looks great! All the water that is on the rocks is that splashing from the fountain? If it is, you may want to dial it down a tad as you'll lose water on a regular basis and have to continue to fill it. You can add a little osmocote to the kitty litter as fertilizer for the potted plants.
I have tried a bunch of plants in the pond, if they start to look sickly, I pull them out, plant them in the ground, and try something else.
And I didn't see, but did someone tell you to make sure it is plain unscented kitty litter? The cheap stuff.

I was just to mentioned the same thing :)

You will lose water right quick if the fountain keep splashing up to the side like that ;)

The pond is cute! Keep adding plants / dirt between the stone and it'll looks more natural :)

Nice changes. Looking great. :) You could also plant a few small land plants poking through some of the rocks around the pond.

I'm liking the direction you're going! But like others have said - that splashing is going to empty your pond quickly. Not an issue if you don't mind topping off on a regular basis.
