Yeah the longer tailed guy is red and the other one is orange. They were huddled together in a fathead goldfish tank so I had to take them.
I am pretty worried about the gigantic frog or toad now though, he was in the pond last night and again this morning. He may be moving soon. :sneaky:

I brought up the subject with my beloved a week or so back. Her reply was "the look".

Seriously, if it was just a matter of putting two fish in the pond there would not be a problem. We both know that I am no longer able to be an adequate fish keeper. It would be a sin for innocent fish to suffer from lack of good stewardship. At least we have our birds. Dozens and dozens feed in our garden and drink from our pond. Who knows what else benefits from our pond in the dark of night. :)

Problem is you remove the frog, another one will come back. You have water you will have frogs/toads.

Yeah no kidding. I can't even begin with all the different types of koi. To me there are 'regular' and 'butterfly' koi.

Oh my gosh... NO KIDDING! That's what I spent the first half of this year on, trying to force myself to learn and recognize the different varieties. I'm probably not even halfway there. It seems impossible! And goldfish... yep. I just made sure to learn the names of my 2 favorite types, and the rest are more or less a mystery to me!

True, I don't mind the other ones, I just freaked last night, I'd never seen him before and he is huge (well for me, he's about the size of a baseball).
I guess I'll let nature do it's thang.

Aww, nice choices! But please don't name them -- every fish I ever name ends up...... Well, let's just say that I don't have them any more.

Oh no!! I absolutely name all of my fish. But I learned the hard way to never name your fish Earl. Because, you know... Earl Had to Die. (Dixie Chicks song reference)

Well I added 4 Shubunkins on Saturday. I forgot to get great pictures but here's a few. I got the yellow, one with black and yellow, and the 2 colorful guys. I sat outside on the ground yesterday morning and dropped a few pellets in the water, I had them all hanging around. I only fed them a few pellets each before they wandered off. Did it again this morning so I have a feeling this is going to be a thing. They don't seem super hungry so I'm going to read through here and find some other snacks they might like that won't foul up the water.
I haven't named them, still counting every morning to make sure Mr.Frog hasn't had sushi.
They are pretty adorable.
