I good inch or more of ice on my pond. Up to an inch of snow tomorrow. Winter has sadly begun... a little too early, for me.

Just checked and mine is about a quarter inch thick I can still see my fish hanging at the bottom
Looks like my de-icer and bubbler are really working.
I'm also glad I left my net staked over the pond as we still have a lot of dead leaves up in the trees and that would have all ended inside the pond.

I had goldfish in a fountain in NJ and no heater just a small pump going .Fountain was just over 2 ft deep and goldfish were from the fair and they survived until I gave them away before I moved

Got the pond shut down on friday morning and just in time before the rain started. Colder air moved in that evening and we got some snow. The wind chill is horrible

Pulled the pump and put it and the filter away for the winter. Added an airpump and de-icer and changed the net from a tight weave to keep leaves out to a net with wider openings mainly to keep the birds and neighboorhood cats from fishing in my pond.

Came home to an absolute mess this evening. My landscapers decided to blow all the leaves around and my pond was totally covered with leaves and debris even with the net over it! So pissed! They are usually so careful and blow everything away from the pond. I called my landscaper and I am considering firing him! No excuse for that! It just took me 2 hrs to remove the net clean up and put the net back! How could a landscaper be so inconsiderate?

Maybe they had temp worker........... Luckily our leaves all seem to blow away from the pond. The only landscaper here is me lol

Does anybody use the microbe-lift autumn winter prep? A friend of mine swears by it.
