my little pond has tons of plants and oxegenators and good filtration and not too high of nitrates even the string algae in the mini bog vanished. but my water has a little color to it. I even had the uv on and it has not changed. just wondering.

That water color looks pretty darn good, It will probably get browner as time goes by due to plants decaying and breaking down, It's normal and to be expected. I wish the color of my water was closer to the color yours is.

I agree your water does not look that bad at all. Mine is probably pretty close to that and I have pretty clear water, can see all the way to the bottom no problem.

My biggest problems come from water lily blooms, with the wire covers on for bird protection I can get in there and cut back the spent blooms like in years past.

It's basically tea. Normal, but hard to remove short of carbon filtration.

Steve you have clams in your pond? Was always told you needed sand or earth at the bottom of the pond for them to live in.

Steve this is what my pond water looks like. The seeds are my lotus seeds that I started yesterday afternoon, soaking them in pond water.

How big is the pot you have them in?

I wonder if you could get mussels from a lake and put them in a pot like that? The only concern would be bringing something bad along with the mussel and introducing it to your pond. The mussels by one of the lakes I kayak at are about 4-5" big. How big are your clams and where did you get them?
