She was overwhelmed by all the plant material that our fish eat, I tried to get that stuff to grow also, the fish ate it.

The heron and maybe the hawk would grab your fish. You could put up line 18 inches (think it is 18) above ground around your pond so they bump into at they walk up. jw uses talk radio, which has kept them away.

JW says it's talk radio but I think it is really her talking that keeps them away.

Here is JW a few years back making a recording of her talking.

Not sure why the video isn't visible.... But the link works.

I was thinking I might play a Rush Limbaugh at full blast to keep the birds away. It will either make them stay away, or it will make them fly around in circles (to the right, of course!) until they're fully insane.

Those plants sure do grow fast. They grow fast enough that they'll choke out the pond if I let them. I leave a good amount of it in there, but I clear out spots for the fish to swim.

Yep usually I try to be right up on the greetings to new peeps but when I saw all that pile of "Gold" laying there w/ no home I wanted to reach right into the computer and grab it all up, lol and forgot all about the welcome wagon!

And I wish you lived near to me cuz I'd drive right over and scoop it all up! Heck I'd buy it off ya!

You inherited a wonderful pond and waterfall. The view from the window if fantastic. That heron will take more fish than anything else, except maybe racoons.

Welcome and really nice pond. The first bird looks like a peregrine falcon. I'm not sure if they go after fish. We have some by us and have never seen them close to our pond.
