the only concern I think would be humidity levels indoors... so ventilation would need to be considered.

Having a negative pressure system would help, so where the pond is located, if the area can be vented with slightly more air drawn out of it than going in will ensure the humidity doesn't get into the rest of the house. Also having some sort of heat exchanger can help reduce the heating/cooling bills for the house.

need something or you will get mold and you would have to have a air cleaner .If it smells outside how bad would it be inside .I guess if it was like a sunroom addition that you can ventilate well it would work or it would be like a steam bath ,

John Can you beat this for an indoor tank, this is what we used to raise koi in then sell off when they reached the 22" mark ?
We ran it for 22 years up until my disablities forced us to move outside to a pond or give up the hobby ............

Do you know I'm now really glad we did make the moe outdoors because it gave us both a shot in the arm and re-kindled our flagging hobby
It held 1ton of water the external filters where capable of 950 gallons imperial per/hr, we also employed a chiller unit during the summer months and it also had a 15 watt U/V sterilizer unit.
Each water change was roughly 70 gallons imperial
We paid £793 uk for it, with the gravel thrown in for free along with our first koi book orth £28.00 uk , twenty two years later we sold it for £600 uk which you must admit for a tank that age it held its value quite well indeed .
It's now is employed by the chap who bought it from us as a Marine Tank with reef etc .

mixing bird poo and water indoors could really be toxic to people that breathe the air .

Many thanx John we did love it and the water was always that clear, it was never mucky or bitty /
It used to blow the minds of fellow fish keepers when they came over for visit for the first time ever .

you are right the bird is a silver gull poor bird has just one wing. It is a rescue. wants water to sit in then to rest on fake lilypads. and hunt. Has to be safe from predators though? SO maybe outside in a large shed with sunlight? smalelr pond then like above groudn liner? I will put like a ramp or something for it walk up. I might need a uv light for the real plants to grow? I will probably just put minnows in it then. No real beautiful fish. :(

I have seen a lot of people build a gazebo and wrap it with chicken wire and put a bottom drain water feature and a smal preformed pond in .The water feature is up off the ground sitting on concrete block that plants hide .They use those shallow stock tanks with the tank adapter in the side so they can drain it .The birds seem to like it since they have a fresh supply of water .Since it is up off the ground it is easy to tend to and easy to clean .
