Addy1, Are we both talking about Lotus (Nelumbo)? All Lotus are hardy to Zone 3.

lol I thought some were tropical, seemed to me (long time ago) someone said that or I read it.................

I have always heard that a Lotus will not grow with more than 4 inches of water over the crown.

Oops- I meant 2-3 inches (not 23).
