this is the one vendor I bought it from. You can clearly see it says embossed. I paid $40 bucks for it (it looks to be listed for $50 now). But I inquired to other vendors and they said what they were selling was embossed/textured. So shop around.

I'll let you know how the 9800 feet fills the stock tank.

yes, BSR, if it has adhesive on it, it's a no go. Keep looking for a bunch from a vendor where it has no adhesive and is just the plain embossed tape.

PS3, same to you, ask if its got adhesive. You just want the tape plain and nothing on it.

I have heard of people using peanuts, but I would not do it. For one, they are delicate little things that break easily. If/when that happens you will have all itty bits of styrofoam all over your pond which will be a PITA. Keep away, as there are better forms of media out there.

you use as much as will fill your container. Are you using this as strictly bio or also for mechanical? If also mechanical, you'll meed something else in addition such as mats or sponges.

yes, mechanical traps stuff (like a sponge), so you can then remove it from the water with a good shake or a hosing of pond water. Bio is just media that sits there as a nest for good bacteria. It doesn't trap gook (like strapping). You need both types.

lots of folks use mesh bags such as these. I know koiguy is always mentioning laundry bags. I just use bird netting from Lowes since it's plastic and I feel will last a long time. You can use whatever you wish if it works for you.
