I think I did post it here if I remember correctly not sure but thought I did .I bought my summer food from them come winter last year and it was a huge bag and cost less than 30 dollars and that was 6.61 lbs .I try to wait until they put it at the lowest price .The summer food never gets as low as the spring and fall diet .I guess not as many people buy the spring and fall food ,so it goes for a lower price and it is tetra food

You probably did sissy, but at that time I had 4 fish ........................and a more than enough food.

Yep I've started feeding mine the fall diet stuff now and they love it. Don't seem to be slowing down yet. I like when some of the pellets get thrown up on the lily pads and they frantically fight to see who can get them off first! There is fighting and jumping and gnashing of teeth, lol!

i have seen a few of mine come out 3-4 inches out of the water either for a bug or for a pellet, fun to watch. And they do fight for them, the pellets are smaller.

It's still in the high 70s mid 80s during the day here in Barcelona but oddly enough my water temps have started to drop because the nights have gotten a bit cooler - 69ish. My lilies and water mint are still blooming though. My lotus threw up loads of arial pads but no blooms in her first year - maybe next year. But I agree with you - the summer FLEW past....

Ermasdaughter - try putting in fertilizer sticks in the spring. I think lotus require a lot of nutrition. Anyhow, that's what I do and mine bloom like crazy.

Addy - From this and past posts it seems that you and I have nearly identical weather. Course we are only a few hours away. I debated the spring fall food this week when it went into the lo 50s at night, but the water temp has not dropped below mid- 60s yet. I think it's supposed to warm up this week but we will not be in town. I got a vacation food block for the week and will start the wheat germ when I return.

My little goldfish piggies are still acting like they are starving and weather is cooler now and was supposed to mow the lawn yesterday cuz they said sunshine was coming. Well it poured down rain all day so guess today is the day for the sunshine. Weather is quite unpredictable here at times but mostly you are safe if you say there will be some rain at times, lol! I'm gonna keep feeding the fish for a bit longer.

any that have a high middle number will work, some use tomato sticks. Lily tabs, I use osmocote, a slow release fertilizer.

I think my bog cools and warms the pond faster, i.e. if sun out water warms nicely, if cold water cools quicker, there is a lot of surface area with water on it exposed to the sun and air. I noticed when it turned cold the water started dropping quick, once the sun came out it started climbing up again.
We did drop to the low 40's and the pond hit 54, according to my neighbor it is warming up again, up in the 60's now, but the sun has been out, and temps warmer.

Thanks JoaniePA. Maybe I didn't feed them enough... What kind of fertilizer do you use?

I buy the plant fertilizer sticks they sell on one of my pond supply sites.. I think its Foster and Smith, but I can't remember the brand. They are spikes which slowly release the fertilizer into the roots. They come in several sizes. For the lotus I use two of the really big ones per plant - or per 18" pot. (about 4" in length and about 1/2" in diameter.)
