Its been low 50s here in MI where im at and the leaves have been falling like crazy so the pond is covered the fish are done eating for now, unless it heats up but i dont know if its going to, due to constant rain......went quick i will post pics of covering tomorrow if i get a chance if its not raining......

We are getting some nice sunny weather here now and feels like summer. I hope it lasts for awhile cuz our summer was a real bummer! I'm not looking forward to winter at all!

This is the first summer since I've had my pond (8 years) that I've seen the bottom of my pond and my fish. I don't want it to end either..........Go away Winter....skip us this year!

We had some nice winds yesterday and today, I can tell its fall beacause I have a ton of cleanup to do tonight after work, leaves an twigs all over in the pond.

My pond is is a corner of the yard nestled in between the house and a fence, it takes some good winds to get that many leaves into my pond.

well old man winters coming no matter what and just hoping it is not as bad as last winter .We have been in the 70's and 80's here and supposed to get down to 60 for 2 days and then back up .The dew has been heavy so the grass is growing like crazy .I have mowed it 2 times in the last week and it needs it again .My leaves blow away to leaf heaven where ever that is .Living up on a hill has it's advantages sometimes .

Starting to see some leaves falling on the trees, but starting to see a lot of growth sputs in the pond plants! All the fish are supper active and being pigs! High today a pleasent 84, 74 right now with low of 54 tonight. yep the cool air is coming. I wish it would stay like it is right now year round. It's been great this week, two evening light thunderstorms, Good light show, not a whole lot of rain, slightly breezy, lows have been running mid 6o's and the highs mid 80's. Grass is growing like crazy, floating hearts, the hardy water lily's, and the parrots feather are really kicking in. and just noticed the third set of baby wrens are coming out of the nest. No wonder that kitty has been hiding inside the last two days! LOL

It's been pretty cool here. I still have to get into the pond one more time to make my fish a bigger hiding spot. One of koi was trying to hide under his little rock cave I made last year, he didn't fit. WOW did they grow. I have an idea of what I have to do but the water is 64*. :cold:

The milk crate type things they sell at walmart are great and all you have to do is cut one end out and it gives them a place to hide but you can still see what there up too .The crates don't trap dirt either and you may need a pond heater for winter if you are leaving them out side in the pond and some spring and fall diet food as it is mostly just wheat germ and they can digest that .The pond temp gets below 50 you will need to start feeding them that or you can harm your fish as they cannot digest the regular food very well .My neighbor killed 2 of her fish last year because she kept feeding them regular food and they could not digest it .

I put mine on the wheat germ already, the pond has been dropping slowly down. This am it was 63. I put them on it once the water hit 70 and stayed there.

Yeh I think I am going to start mine on it as I see when I put the regular food in they seem to not eat much of it and I am having to scoop it out .The water is still at 75 but the pigs don't feel like eating right now .I already bought the spring and fall food from pet mountain this past summer when they clearanced it out a big bag for 9 dollars and a bonus bag to with treats .The bag is over 7 lbs and the treats they gave with it is almost 2 lbs.

I think I did post it here if I remember correctly not sure but thought I did .I bought my summer food from them come winter last year and it was a huge bag and cost less than 30 dollars and that was 6.61 lbs .I try to wait until they put it at the lowest price .The summer food never gets as low as the spring and fall diet .I guess not as many people buy the spring and fall food ,so it goes for a lower price and it is tetra food
