How would you do your filter

Does anyone have a picture/diagram of how they have run the plumbing for the bio and skimmer. We are planning on using an external pump. Does it connect to skimmer then to bio filter? We are going to use a 100 gal stock tank. If my calculations are correct, our pond capacity will be about 2700 gals.

Mine comes from the skimmer with a ball valve in line to control the pump draw coming from the skimmer. That line comes to a T where it joins the line drawing from the pond, both go into the external pump, the pump feeds the bog.

Mine just pulls from my skimmer to my external pump then to my falls. I am looking at changing some things and would do it like Addy has hers.
