how to build a pond and waterfall

interested in how you are planning this is your pond water coming from the top and down the hill to the pond behind the wall and is it going to come out of that wall opening into another pond .You just say the pond will be behind the wall

hi all,the pond will be behind the wall.i will build a new waterfall at the bottom of the old pondless so the water will flow into the new pond :razz: littlepond :razz:

hi all mini digger came today,to dig ouy the clay behind concrete wall.foundold plastic water trough for pondless basin,see photos.the plastic water trough has a auto water filler atach.also found pump in basin,i see can i get it working.dug out clay,very stoney see photo.new idea for skimmer box,i use a small plastic water troughwith auto fill installed,put holes with drill in the plastic box.all ready for tomorrow for liner and underlay :sad: littlepond :surprised:

hi all.day 2 at my pond cons.put2in sand in hole.put in 2 2 andhalf in pipes for water and eletric under pond liner.installed underlay and pond liner .installed my diy skimmer in pond.started putting in rocks and gravel.installed old pump in skimmer box,and connected plumming

doing good there even with the quinness.............looking good........thanks for the updates

In looking again at the photos, the area with all the rock, you might not want to have the rock, more water in the pond and less junk collecting down the road

hi.ha ha about the guinness.i like the look of rocks and gravel in the pond maybe is because i am a stonemason by trade

Once a year or so, clean out the rocks well, they will collect a lot of muck. Keep it going! a stone mason, head on over we will put you to work.

How are you going to retain that wall of dirt behind the pond .I wonder if you could put a liner somehow against there and stack stones to make a really long waterfall that would really be different .Just me thinking outside the box .Since you are a stone mason would it work or cave in on itself

hi addy1,where i have my diy skimmer installed,i have put in 3 differant sizes stones 6in. 2 in .and half in stone all round the diy skimmer box so they should filter the water in the pond :razz: little pond :razz:

hi sissy,the wall behind the pond is a stone slab.so i will build it up so far ,then plant it so it will more natural :razz: littlepond :razz:

wow now I call that one fantastic wall and that rock work is amazing .Gosh reminds of a castle you must have one great looking place if the entrance is like that
