ya mean like this? (btw, j.w., how do I add this to my signature? I tried uploading the animated gif to flckr, no go, and tried dragging and dropping into my 'Settings' re signature and had the software wipe out my sig altogether. I even made the gif half the original size, still a no go...any help?)

All you should have to do is go to photo bucket and go to the album you've made to keep the gif in and then click the upload button and then click the green bat that says choose photo's and videos and then it will give you the option of where to choose to get the photo off your pc and then you hight light it and click Save and it should appear on your photobucket page and then you click the save and continue to album button and voila it will appear in your album. Then you left click on the img code and and when it says it copied you paste it to your signature page. Let me try it here and see if it will work for me on my next post below this. I'll put it in my sig till you see it and tell me you saw it ok? Ok,lol! Be right back.

Ok I think it won't work cuz when you put it on photo bucket it shows the true size and it's too big to use in your signature here on the forum. This is the size it would be if it was in your sig.

thanks j.w.; Becky is checking into it as I've sent her the exact link. Seems I've put pics that were larger than the 500K (which this animated gif weighs in at), so not sure 'too big' is the problem. Still, I can see about reducing the size once I get some sort of ceiling for sig files.

btw, how did you get it to 'auto play'? Seems the one I embedded needs to be 'opened' before anything happens. Am I c/p ing the wrong url/link?

I right clicked on your image that you posted and it enlarged and then I right clicked again and then I chose view page info, went to media tab, scrolled down through the images and chose the big image of it w/ the fish jumping, not the small one that was a few above that one and then highlighted that big one link that I wanted and then clicked save as and loaded it to my desktop and then added it to photo bucket where when I put it on here it came as the large animated one.

The reason you have to click on yours is you are using this forums way to add the photo. When you post it from Photobucket it doesn't come that way......the click it to open way......it just comes open w/ the fish jumping.

okay, going to give this a try; can't seem to edit the original post anymore (sorry, Becky! You can delete my attempt after I see my results!)

(hmm, not working yet; will have to see about moving the gif from photobucket to here, as you're suggesting, j.w.)

Yay! Got it! and there ARE two versions; the above is the smaller, obviously, whereas you grabbed the original (large) I did indeed have to go to photobucket and copy the right link/image data, then I just c/p'd it, instead of using this forum's 'add files' feature (in case anyone else wants to try their hand at this). Thanks j.w.; now we'll see if Becky can figure out a way to allow me to have the ferocious jumping guppy to keep your lil Nanu Nanu whaley company!

Sorry, Becky. I gave myself a slap upside the head for starting all that! :bye2:
