How Deep to Plant Hardy Water Lilies?

One more thing. Again in zone 8 what about the hardy floating plants? Can i just leave them in the pond for the winter.

Yes, I leave all my hardy plants in the pond, they all nicely die back and come back in the spring.

Some float, like the parrots feather, the yellow heart, bog bean. Some totally float some have a bit anchored in dirt, same type of plants.

I don't do water lettuce, or hyacinths.

What hardies are you asking about?

By virtue of being called "hardy" it means they can survive the coldest temps in your zone. Something that's hardy to you would only be an annual in colder zone.
