Bigger is better for most people. The more water you have the less likely one small incidence of something falling in will change the chemistry, larger gives the fish more room to escape natural predators, larger makes it get through the winter better especially if it is deeper, larger gives your fish more room to grow, larger helps keep the bio-load low, larger is actually less work for most people once it's set up, Smaller (under 1000 gallons) is okay if you stick to goldfish and don't have too many :)

Fabulous looking pond. You did a great job. I think "I wish I would of made it bigger" came out of all our mouths after the first pond. I wanted to start small just to get experience and knowledge. And to see if it was something I wanted as a hobby. It is now the centerpiece of my backyard. You'll love it. And it is soooo addicting.

Well, my first words were, "Whoa, that's WAY BIGGER than I thought it would be." But then, I usually am different from everyone else (devil's advocate).

After a year, I'm happy with the size (maybe a LITTLE bigger would be OK :) ), but wishing I could make some design changes.... OK, saving ideas for next pond ;)

My first pond was a little 90 gallon preform. Can't get much smaller than that ... lol But, am very happy with my current pond. I like changing things around too. Sort of like bedazzling the pond.
