Help, pump intake disaster

We gotten new filter installed. That thing is huge.

Luckily , years ago, we used fernco attachments on some of the pvc. Made it easier to remove and fix.

Took 3 of us to man handle it back into place.

3 inch line is heavy!

The flow is so much better. I was concerned it might drag down the piping, nope all went well. Has a nice check valve, installed so it is not in use.

Wow -- that thing should never get plugged up! What a beast.
Yep!

I will check the leaf basket for drawn in critters. Usually fish swim away from the draw. 1/2 x 1 inch grid. But that large the draw should not be real strong.

I bet they will barely feel it with such a large basket. Wow --- beast!

Found this, again not cheapView attachment 165414
this is messed up i checked whats new and new posts almost daily and this thread never showed up. addy you could always cut it down a foot or so and just resecure the end with a couple zip ties. they do have stainless ties that will out live us

Lol installed, running fine. Didn't pull down the piping.

I installed it horizontal, check valve on the bottom. So it is always open. My pump self primes.

Thanks for the idea. Rather leave it as is.

Love the better flow!
