Love the pond weve been keeping koi for 27 years now we wish you the same in years as ourselves if not more in our hobby , try to remember maintenance of your pond and filters goes a heck of along way to keeping your koi alive as do regular water perameters checks with a drop test kit made by API

Thank you for your comment Dave. I have been checking my water at my local commercial pet/fish store. The other day i checked my 2+ month old 29gal quarantine tank, 10gal 1/2 full comet fry tank, and the 20 day old re-do pond with goldfish feeding. All test didnt pick up anything any ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate which doesnt surprise me with the pond at all but the two tanks in the shade on the deck should read somthing, figured the test were bunk or expired ill still go and check another week. Hopefully the gravel filter will be enough until i can set up a large waterfall bio filter and flow that to the top river then off the fall into the bottom pond.

May I suggest a designated 100 gallon + QT setup for your koi as hey dont really do well in small tanks we have what in the UK is called a Shorham QT tank its a total of 550 gallons imperial with built in filter, 15watt U/V-Cits own bottom drain and venturie, which we use for all QT proceedures taking in everything from new koi to wounded koi, sick koi to (not yet though) mating.
A large stock tank would do the same thing provided you attached a filter U/V-C and bottom drain.
