I think there probably gold fish, I will have to take a closer look, they always dive down when they see me.Koi have barbells and goldfish do not. The barbells look like " whiskers"Are you able to post some pictures?

Much better for you then if you have just goldfish as they need much less room than the giant koi

If the bottom of the pond is full of muck maybe you can slowly net some of it out.

Thank you, I ordered a net and the test kits suggested by MitchM.
We havent moved in yet so Im only there on the weekend. Saturday I will test the water and net some muck !
Oh and look for barbbells to determine if Im dealing with Goldfish or Koi ?
