LOL! Sissy, you would not like the CA ground squirrel. They steal the whole plant, too. And worse, they steal my apricots just to get to the seeds! They make a mess in doing so, leaving a big whole in the fruit and leaving it to rot. I have told many of them (ok, yelled at them is more accurate) that I would gladly give them the seeds after I eat the fruit. I swear they laugh at me as they run off with their jaws stuffed.
