Hi, I'm Lori.

We have a farm in central Indiana. Our pond is a "mud" pond, man made (hubby just likes to play in the dirt!) It started out as a swimming hole for the kids, now is my happy place. I tossed some $.28 goldfish in it a couple years ago and a few koi I got from a friend. The fish are prolific to say the least. lol
My goals are to get it "pretty", clear up the water and do some more landscaping.

Happy to be here!

I was going to recommend this video, too! There are several others, too, where they have added intake bays and wetland filtration to existing earthen ponds. Super interesting and fun to watch!

Wow, thank you for the warm welcome, and compliments.
I love Dr. Pol, so I'll enjoy the video either way!!
I get so overwhelmed by what I should do, and how to do it.
We have the equipment access, but not the knowledge nor the time to do what I should lol. I'm almost afraid to mess with it, it's pretty much self sufficient the way it is. I do use some pond guy products to clean it up from the winter... if I showed you pictures of it now, I'd be embarrassed. Winter is hard on things!!

However, the fish have grown SSSSOOOOOO much over the winter! It's crazy!

There's almost none . The intake bay needs cleaning from time to time all depends how many trees etc are close by but you look pretty open. The bog you do litteraky nothing unless you put in plants and then you'll need to pull out the dead seasonal and or thin the heard as the plants over grow each other.
