No I was wondering if they are fish safe as I'm still not sure if there are fish in the pond as the house has been empty since January and I can find nothing around the pond thats says it was filtered or not and just wanted to see if they are safe for fish as when it gets cleaned out I would like to get it up and running .The house is on 11.23 acres in a-1 zone which is agricultural so not worried about anything and the property has come up for sale next door so I am thinking of buying that too .

Wait till things begin to grow, who knows what will show up in the old gardens. I have zebra grass in my bog, it is growing great.

I have iris growing in pots in the pond.

Aww poison ivy, I had a root hit my back dead of winter, got horrible poison ivy, Did not even have a clue it was poison ivy. We have some that grows almost 10 feet high along a fence of honeysuckle, mixed in with the honeysuckle. So I understand completely, get some tecnu, wash with it when working in the garden, it kills the oils, naptha soap works also. Have to do within 2 hours or so. I wash with it all the time.

I would have to wipe out a lot of plants to kill it off everywhere. Even had growing in the grass. Don't know if your lily will make it or not talal but give it a try and keep the faith. Plants never fail to surprise me. I bought a lilac on closeout in late November several years ago. Never got it in the ground that year and kept it in the garage...didn't water, no light. Like you, it gets cold, cold here too. Had about 10 days of subzero temps in January just this year. Anyway, back to the lilac. It froze, didn't get watered and had no light shut up inside my old garage all winter. Just about knocked me over when I saw green leaves sprouting on it the next spring while still hidden in a dark corner in my garage. And, lilies are even hardier than those lilacs I got.

In the future, leave the water in the pond and sink the lily pots to the deepest part. They will do just fine! Good luck!!

Jenny
