As the current reigning SWMBO here, I suggest you have a better than 50/50 odds of convincing her if she likes flowers and finds the sound of water soothing. Then she may require things such as pretty fish to compliment the pretty flowers.

Likes flowers? yes, loves them. Water soothing? Not so sure. But she has expressed an interest in keeping ducks... that would need a much bigger pond.

Just that I'm not sure about ducks, my experience with them is limited to noting the mess they seem to create. I'll start with minnows, go from there...
