We had all the snow and ice last week and i had to shut my filters down.
I went out of town fri and the pond was still froze, so i didn't get to start it back up until Sunday night, I got one drum running and waited till after work today to bring the other 2 online ,and my fines filter the last 3 days we have been pushing the high 60s with lots of sun and today i noticed a little green tint already ...
I should get control of it in a day or two

We've had 65 degrees the past couple days here too, and we're a lot further North. Might get snow again next week, but for now the fish are getting pretty active.

We have temps in the 60's now with 70's forcast for Friday. Water temps still in the mid 40s. Pond 1 is turning green! It is much more shallow than pond 2 and more below ground. Working on cleaning the filter material and getting ready to start up the pump and filter but I'm sure I will have to shut hem down again when winter comes back!

I just checked, the ice over the pond is still 6 inches thick! that is going to take a while to melt.

Eesh that's a lot of ice! I fed my fish the last two days, my water temp is up to 46 degrees today. If I weren't busy with something else right now, I'd have started digging the new pond this week.
